Service scope
Battick Mediation & Educational Solutions provides information about Ontario family mediation, educational advocacy and parent coaching. The scope, participants, fees and arrangements for each service are agreed in writing. The practice does not provide legal advice, court or tribunal representation, therapy or emergency assistance.
Mediation and advocacy
A mediator is impartial and does not decide the outcome. Advocacy and coaching support an identified client. The same professional will not act as advocate and mediator in the same dispute. Neutral family-school facilitation is identified separately and requires willing participation.
Agreements and legal advice
Parenting proposals and mediation summaries are intended for discussion and independent review. They are not offered as final separation agreements or court orders. A title alone does not determine legal effect. Obtain independent legal advice before signing or relying on terms, particularly where existing orders or proceedings are involved.
Dates, requests and payment
The planner helps you select preferences, open an email request or download a summary. You must send the email from your email application. The website does not send it automatically, reserve time or collect payment. Availability and acceptance must be confirmed with the practice. Mediation requires conflict checks, separate suitability and safety screening, a written agreement and the applicable deposit. The Fees page explains the $100 CAD reservation deposit.
Confidentiality and participation
The service agreement explains confidentiality, its exceptions and arrangements for records or third-party participation. Do not assume that a website enquiry is privileged. Recording requires the agreement specified in the engagement terms. Participation in mediation is voluntary.
Independence and outcomes
The practice is independent and is not endorsed or directed by any school board or education institution. It cannot guarantee a school decision, placement, accommodation or resolution. An enquiry or service does not pause external deadlines or change a court order.
Your service agreement
Read the engagement and fee terms before accepting a service or paying. Ask about any difference between this general information and the proposed engagement. Nothing on this website excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
